ISLAMABAD: Three-day Pakistan-Sri Lanka Defence Dialogue, aimed at promoting professional and mutually beneficial relations between both armed forces, is underway in Colombo.
Pakistani side is being headed by Defence Secretary Retired Lt. Gen Ikramul Haq, while Sri Lankan Secretary Defence Kapila Waidyaratne is leading his team.
Expressing his views in the dialogue, Ikramul Haq said Pakistan and Sri Lanka shared the unique honor of defeating terrorism.
He said the forum has enabled both the countries to identify new areas of collaboration and provided an opportunity to exchange views on strategic and security issues.
Defence ties between Pakistan and Sri Lanka are based on mutual trust and commonality of interest in maintaining regional peace, security and stability.
The dialogue will conclude on Friday.
