Tributes and condemnations pour in amid Quetta attack

At least 48 people were killed and dozens wounded when a bomb ripped through a crowd of mourners inside Civil Hospital Quetta today. Leading political parties including the ruling PML-N has condemned the attack while PTI, PPP and ANP has termed the incident an absolute lapse of security.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif expressed deep grief and anguish over the loss of precious human lives.

“No one will be allowed to disturb peace in the province that has been restored due to countless sacrifices of security forces, police and the people of Baluchistan,” a statement released from the PM House said.

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chief Imran Khan and leader Asad Umar strongly condemned the attack.

Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and former president Asif Zardari urged the government to take steps, worth taking, against rising terrorism in the province.

Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah telephoned Balochistan counterpart Sanaullah Zehri and assured complete support on behalf of the Sindh government.
