Turkish Foreign Minister to arrive today for two-day visit

ISLAMABAD: Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu will arrive on a two-day official visit to Pakistan today upon an invitation of his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement that apart from meeting his Pakistani counterpart, he will also call on President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan.

During the meetings, the relations between Turkey and Pakistan will be discussed and views will be exchanged on regional and international developments.

The Turkish minister was extended the invitation to visit Pakistan when he telephoned his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi to congratulate him on assuming the charge as country’s new foreign minister.

Turkish Foreign Minister had also offered to host the trilateral Afghanistan-Pakistan-Turkey Summit in the near future.

Both leaders had also agreed to meet on the sidelines of the United Nation General Assembly session in New York next month.
