RAWALPINDI: Commander of Land Forces of United Arab Emirates (UAE), Major General Saleh Mohammad Saleh Megren Al-Ameri, met General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), at General Headquarters.
The two dignitaries deliberated on regional security situation and issues of mutual interest including cooperation in the fields of defence, security and military training between the armed forces of both the countries.
During his visit, Major General Saleh Mohammad acknowledged Pakistan Army’s efforts in fight against terrorism and hailed their exemplary role.
Earlier, on arrival at GHQ, the Commander of the UAE Land Forces laid floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada, where he was also presented the guard of honor.
Few days ago, Azerbaijan’s Chief of State Border Service Colonel General Elchin Guliyev called on Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa at the General Headquarters.
Azerbaijan’s COSBS also appreciated professionalism of the armed forces and its victories against terrorists.
Last month, the COAS delivered a key note address on “Security of Pakistan” at a three-day international conference at Air University Islamabad, and said, armed forces and the nation had sacrificed a lot to bring back stability across the country.
Terrorism has been effectively contained with complete nation’s support but we need to remain vigilant and follow the correct course to move from survival to revival, he added.
