PESHAWAR: Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed on Saturday said the railway track ML-1 from Peshawar to Karachi would be renovated by the end of next month.
Talking to newsmen in Peshawar, he said renovation of the track was part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.
Sheikh Rasheed said renovation of railway track ML-2 from Kotri to Attock and ML-3 from Quetta to Taftan will also be included in the CPEC.
He said Rahman Baba Express Train would be inaugurated on December 25, that would run between Peshawar and Karachi.

The minister said Safari Train would also be started between Peshawar and Taxila.
Earlier talking to newsmen in Risalpur, the minister for railways said innovations were being introduced in Pakistan Railways to make it a profitable institution.
He said the locomotives would be run with latest technology. He said foreign entrepreneurs would be given incentives to invest in the railways for increasing its revenue.
Sheikh Rasheed said the government was also working for welfare of railways’ workers.
He has also sought help of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation in demolition 5-10,000 houses encroached upon railway’s land in Karachi.
