In a meeting with Finance Minister Ishaq Dar in Islamabad, the US ambassador said IDPs had been provided US $80 million through World Food Programme.
He said USAID and Pakistan would co-host an international investors’ conference on Diamer Bhasha Dam in Washington in October this year.
He was of the view that the US believed that people of FATA could benefit from Kurram Tangi Hydro Power Project.
On the occasion, Dar said government was working to utilize its indigenous resources to minimize dependence of other costly sources. He reiterated that energy remains one of the highest priorities of the incumbent government.
