KARACHI: Pakistan’s former cricket captain Wasim Akram has announced his support for Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan ahead of the general elections scheduled on July 25.
Pakistan goes to historic elections this month as it looks forward to second-ever handover of power – a democratic dividend that has long eluded the country.
In a tweet on Saturday night, the legendary cricketer said: “It was in your leadership skip @ImrankhanPTI that we became world champions in 1992. It is in your leadership that we can again become a great democratic country. #voteforkapatan#nayapakistan.”
