WATCH: Shoaib Akhtar 'attacks' Sehwag ahead of India-Pakistan clash

As cricket fans wait for the highly-anticipated clash between India and Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy on Sunday, Former Pakistani paceman Shoaib Akhtar and Indian batsman Virender Sehwag ‘attacked’ each other in the countdown to the blockbuster.

Appearing on Indian channel, Shoaib Akhtar reminded Sehwag that Pakistan has a better record in the Champions Trophy. Pakistan has beat India twice in their three encounters in the tournament.

However, Sehwag suggested Pakistani fans should “not break their television sets after losing the match, and instead buy radio sets as they are cheaper and it will not pinch their pockets.”

Shoaib Akhtar appeared baffled but retorted saying: “We have enough old Chinese TV sets which don’t work, so we (will) break them (instead).”

Sehwag was also of the view that the current Indian team led by Virat Kohli will easily topple Sarfraz Ahmed’s team. He said it is India’s compulsion to ICC-sanctioned tournaments.

Akhtar said that Pakistan has a very strong chance to win, if they play the game carefully at run a ball or at an economy of four or five for the full 50 overs.

“Pakistan needs to play like Kohli, or even half of what how Kohli plays like,” said Akhtar.

Akhtar even suggested that India and Pakistan should play at least two series each year.

However, Sehwag shot back saying that “BCCI is the richest cricket board in the world and Pakistan needs a bilateral series more than anyone.”
