Water level at Punjnad surges by 144283 cusecs in 12 hours

KARACHI: The water level has surged by 1,44,283 cusecs at Punjnad Headworks during last 12 as the data of inflow and outflow of water at rivers and barrages released on Sunday.
Indus River’s water level increasing at Guddu and Sukkur barrages as several parts of katcha area reportedly sumberged in the water and reached near the protective dyke at Ali Wahan.
The river has been in low flood at Kotri Barrage with 7,000 cusects increase in the water levvel.
Sindh’s senior minister Sharjeel Memon has said that the inflow and outflow of water at Trimmu Barrage has been 5,26,385 cusecs while the inflow and outflow at Head Punjnad have been 4,89,330 cusecs.
The inflow and outflow of River Indus at Guddu Barrage have been 3,90,704 cusecs and 3,62,070 cusecs, provincial minister said.
The inflow and outflow of the river at Sukkur Barrage have been 3,24,000 cusecs and 2,80,050 cusecs respectively.
The inflow and outflow of Indus in downstream at Kotri Barrage have been 2,44,283 cusecs and 2,31,763 cusecs, provincial minister further said.
He said Tarbel Dam has filled to its total capacity, while 88 percent of Mangla Dam’s reservoir has been filled.
The Indus River has been in medium flood at Guddu Barrage and in low flood at Sukkur and Kotri barrages, Sindh’s minister said.
He asked people to cooperate with the administration and avoid heeding the rumours.
