WASHINGTON: Hollywood star Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith have always been super honest when it comes to their relationship – and they’re getting even more candid.

Will, 50, has revealed that he realised the moment that he met Jada, 47, he realised that he had married the wrong woman. The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air star married actress Sheree Zampino in 1992, with the couple welcoming their son Trey in the same year.

However, when Will and Jada met on a night out, sparks immediately flew. Speaking on his wife’s Facebook Watch series Red Table Talk, Will said: ‘We sat down at The Baked Potato and talked. There was a really unique, beautiful power. We had that moment and we connected, but I was married.’

Jada quipped: ‘And that was it’ – but added: ‘We did not have an affair while he was married, let’s be clear about that.’ The following night, however, Will realised that he wanted to be with Jada, despite still being married to Sheree.

The actor said: ‘That next night, me and Sheree went to dinner, and I sat down with Sheree, and it was one of the most bizarre emotions I ever had. We were at The Palm and I remember I had to get up from dinner when I had a realisation that I wasn’t with the person I was supposed to be with.’

Jada said: ‘But you would have stayed with her forever’, with her husband agreeing: ‘Forever, I would have never got a divorce. ‘I went into the bathroom in The Palm, and I broke down in tears. I was sitting in a stall in the restaurant and I was crying uncontrollably and then laughing like, “what the heck is wrong with me?” And I knew that was the woman I was supposed to be with.’

Sheree filed for divorce in 1995, and two years later, Will and Jada were married. Will revealed that he wasted no time after splitting from his first wife, saying: ‘I literally walked right out [from signing the divorce papers and] I called Jada.

‘I said “Hey Jada, what’s up? It’s Will.” She said “Hey, how you doing?” I said, “Good, are you seeing anybody?” She said, “Uh, no,” and I said “Cool, you’re seeing me now”.’ Will and Jada have now been married for two decades and are parents to Jaden, 20, and Willow, 17.
