Woman claims Sabri’s killer sketch resembles her missing son

However, a woman is now claiming that the hitman sketch looks close to her missing son.

The case took an interesting twist when Hameeda Khatoon – a resident of Upper Gizri in Clifton – claimed that the sketch of the hitman resembled her son who has been missing for the last three years.

She even reached the Sindh High Court (SHC) to file a petition in this regard. She also informed the media that she had lodged a First Information Report (FIR) with the area police in 2014 about the disappearance of her son.

Thousands of fans, friends and family members attended the funeral prayers of the highly praised qawwali maestro and Sufi singer, Amjad Sabri, who was shot dead in broad daylight on Wednesday (June 22).

A wave of grief shocked the country when unknown armed motorcyclists sprayed Sabri with bullets in the Liaquatabad area when the 45-year-old was heading to a private TV channel to perform in its Ramazan transmission.

Sabri has been laid to rest beside his father, Ghulam Farid Sabri, in Paposh Nagar graveyard in the city.

His funeral prayers were held after Zuhr prayers on Thursday at Furqania mosque in Liaquatabad area of the metropolis, where the renowned singer lived throughout his life.

Following an FIR registered at the Sharifabad Police Station in Karachi, an investigation team has been made to probe into the murder case of Sabri, which is said to taken assistance from closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage for a possible breakthrough.

Since the assassination of Amjad Sabri, Pakistan has been in mourning while tributes kept pouring in from across the world.
