Zain Murder Case: SC records statement of Zain Rauf's mother

The apex court had taken suo moto notice of acquittal of six accused, including prime suspect Mustafa Kanju, in Zain murder case.

During the hearing Justice Amir Hani Muslim, who was heading the bench comprising of Justice Manzoor Ahmed Malik and Justice Sardar Tariq Masood, said that justice will be done not matter how powerful the murders have been.

In reply to Justice Amir Hani Muslim’s question about the incident, the mother of the victim said that she could not fight with the accused alone, as they are very powerful.

She said she has two daughters and the family does not have the resources to fight with these people. “My son has been killed and I have borne this loss as the will of the God.”

Justice Hani observed that the court would decide the matter in accordance with the law as no one is above it.

Earlier on November 10, the prosecution team in Zain muder case told the court that witnesses and petitioners had withdrawn their statements after receiving money from the prime accused.

Mustafa Kanju, a son of former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Siddique Kanju, had allegedly opened fire on a vehicle near Lahore Cavalry Ground in April last year, killing 9th class student Zain Rauf and injuring a passerby.
