LAHORE: Co-Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday decided to set up a political front against the government and said his party would become fully active in politics once Panama Leaks case verdict was announced, ARY News reported.
According to details, the former president after consultation with the party leadership has decided that the formation of political front would be given final touch after the Panamagate case verdict is announced.
He said four years of politics of reconciliation had ended and aggressive politics would begin now.
The Supreme Court of Pakistan in February reserved its verdict after completion of the high profile Panamagate Case hearing against the family members of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
A five-member bench of SC reserved its judgement in the case after PTI counsel Naeem Bukhari and Shaikh Rashid concluded their arguments in the case on February 23.
The court said that it will not be issuing a short order in the case but will release a full judgment at an appropriate time.
Zardari has directed his party workers to get active. He said he had a lot up his sleeve to do, but will wait a little more.
“I am here and Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is also here. The arena will be set up and the opponents will be given a befitting reply,” he warned in a statement.
This should be noted that Zardari, Bilawal and other many senior PPP leaders are currently in Punjab to campaign for general elections of 2018.
The co-chairman of PPP had on Monday announced to hold a rally in constituency of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Chakri, and directed the party workers to begin preparations in this regard.
“Next meeting with workers will be held in Chakri. Our workers have full authority to respond to any aggression,” he said.
Nisar in a press conference welcomed Zardari and said, if asked, he would fully facilitate the PPP rally in his hometown.
