Addressing the International Donors Conference in Islamabad, Dar said assistance to internally displaced persons of North Waziristan was obligation of the international community. They, however, should also aid the flood-affected victims in Pakistan, he added.
Finance minister said report to assess damages of floods had been prepared, however estimations of financial aid for their rehabilitation would be made later in October.
Punjab officials told
the conference that floods affected 5,00,000 people and 3,450 villages across the province. They told that 35,000 families were provided each with Rs 25,000 compensation amount. While those killed in the floods were given Rs 1.6 million each to their heirs.
Chairman National Disaster Management Authority Saeed Aleem said floods affected 23 districts of Punjab, 10 of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and five Gilgit Baltistan.
