RAWALPINDI: 20 kilograms of heroin recovered by the law enforcement agencies in a joint operation from a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight at Benazir Bhutto International Airport here today, ARY News reported.
The search at a London bound flight of PIA was conducted on a tip-off of a British secret agency, sources said.
In a joint operation by the Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) and the Airport Security Force (ASF) around 20 KG of narcotics recovered from the flight.
ANF officials have detained some staff members of PIA engineering and catering departments for questioning.
A PIA spokesperson has confirmed that the contraband was recovered from the flight.
The London bound flight was one of the four planes scheduled to be searched today, the spokesman said.
An investigation team headed by Additional I.G. Punjab Hussain Asghar, has been constituted to investigate the matter.
