31 suspects arrested in countrywide Radd-ul-Fasaad operation

RAWALPINDI: The Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) in countrywide operation arrested 31 suspects, ARY News reported on Wednesday.

Over dozen of suspects were taken into custody in different cities of the country including Faisalabad and Shikarpur.

The law enforcement personnel in a raid in Khaniwal, arrested five suspects and recovered weapons from their possession, while bio-metric identification of over 100 people was also conducted.

Separately in Faisalabad, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) detained a suspect affiliated with banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and recovered two suicide jackets, detonators, and one kilogramme of explosives from his possession.

CTD officials said that the terrorist was planning a terror attack to target sensitive installations.

Meanwhile in Kasur, another city of Punjab, 33 suspects were arrested in raids. Two more suspected persons were detained in Toba Tek Singh.

Moreover, the law enforcement personnel during a search operation in Shikarpur city of Sindh detained 17 suspects.

It is pertinent to mention here that dozens of miscreants were arrested on Monday and several mobile phones, identity cards, and sims were recovered during countrywide Radd-ul-Fasaad operation.
