KARACHI: A 72-inch diameter pipeline of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KW&SB) burst on Friday, suspending water supply to several parts of the metropolis, ARY News reported.
According to official sources, the 72-inch pipeline used to supply water from Gharo pumping station to the city burst owing to pressure caused by power breakdowns.
The city will face shortage of more than 600 million gallons of water, as per rough estimate.
There was no official word on how long it will take the water utility to repair the pipeline and ensure water supply to the affected areas.
