A ‘rainy’ election day expected in most parts of Pakistan

KARACHI/ISLAMABAD: A fresh spell of rain is likely to envelope the north-western parts of Pakistan on the day of highly-anticipated general election – July 25 – as per the weather forecasting authority.

The rainy season is expected to begin from Tuesday (today) and will persist till Sunday, including the polling day of July 25, as announced by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

During the six-day wet weather starting from today, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Malakand, Hazara, Mardan, Peshawar, and Kohat, as well as Kashmir are expected to receive heavy rainfall, weatherman said.

The PMD further reported that Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Bahawalpur in Punjab, Zhob and Kalat in Balochistan, and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) are also predicted to experience strong winds, with thunderous rainfall and lightning.
