ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali said on Saturday that the federal government would easily come out of the Panamagate crisis soon, just the way Defence Minister Khawaja Asif came out of a petition at the Supreme Court challenging his election from the NA-110 (Sialkot) constituency.
Criticising Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader said the KP government did not do anything in the province accept corruption and dancing.
The Panamagate Scandal appeared in April 2016 when names of several Pakistanis including Nawaz Sharif’s children surfaced in one of the world’s biggest ever data leaks through an online searchable database made public by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ).
The apex court has asked Maryam Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz and Hasan Nawaz, children of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, to file documents related to their properties on November 15.
In her reply, Maryam Nawaz categorically denied holding any offshore company during the last hearing. According to lawyer Salman Aslam Butt, Maryam Nawaz was also not a dependent child of the prime minister.
Similarly, Hussain and Hasan Nawaz in their respective replies said they had been working and living overseas for several years within the laws.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has also denied holding any offshore company or business outside Pakistan.
