Indian media has gone nuts over legendry Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi’s tweet demanding the United Nations and other international bodies to intervene and stop the bloodshed being carried out by Indian occupational forces in occupied Kashmir that has lately left 19 martyred.
The local media has started trying its hands on every kind of propaganda that they can do against Shahid Afridi. The Indian news channels have even started comparing Afridi to Jamat-ud-Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed for his heartfelt support to the innocent people of Kashmir.
One such channel showed Afridi’s pictures with former and current director generals of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), who are mouthpieces of armed forces, calling them Inter Services Intelligence’s officers.
This has made the media of the nuclear power country a laughing stock on social media as people from across the world, mostly from Pakistani origin, have started trolling over its ignorance and misinterpretation.
When Afridi heard of this misreporting, he chuckled and said, “For me, my dignity and everything is my country and as far as Army is concerned, I am a soldier of this country. This is my country. Had I not been a cricketer, I would have been a soldier.”
Talking to ARY News program ’11th Hour’, he lashed out at Indian media for its negative propaganda and said, “Pakistan always takes first step in mending ties. While, Indian media plays the most negative role in impeding the progress towards good relations. India’s media is the biggest hurdle in improving ties between both the nations.”
“Appalling and worrisome situation ongoing in the Indian Occupied Kashmir.Innocents being shot down by oppressive regime to clamp voice of self determination & independence. Wonder where is the @UN & other int bodies & why aren’t they making efforts to stop this bloodshed?” Afridi had tweeted earlier.
To another query, Lala said he enjoyed cricket the most in India and Australia. He lauded Indian people’s response and love for him.
“People there are very nice, but I will repeat that Indian media has a very negative approach towards Pakistan and its people,” he said.
