KARACHI: A gangster killed in an encounter with police while four others were arrested in two separate raids on Tuesday night in city’s old area of Lyari, ARY News reported.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided a house at Dubai Chowk. Sensing arriving of police personnel, the miscreants inside the house opened fire at them and in retaliatory police fire a gangster killed while three others managed to flee from the spot.
The slain suspect was said to be affiliated with Baba Ladla group. Police seized weapon and a hand grenade from possession of the deceased. However, the identification of the killed man and his accomplices could not be established.
Separately, Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) arrested four more gangsters affiliated with notorious Baba Ladla gang during door-to-door search operation in Baghdadi area of Lyari.
The arrested gangsters were identified as Lagho alias Mallah, Arshad Sanhara, Pakiya Baloch and Koddo. Police also recovered weapons and narcotics from their possession.
The LEAs handed over the arrested miscreants to Baghdadi and Chakiwara police for further investigation.
