Altaf demands martial law for peace in Sindh

Talking exclusively to ARY News, the MQM chief opined that martial law should be imposed in the province to bring the deteriorating law and order situation under control.

He added that Karachi, which is providing 70 percent of revenue to the country, has no one to take its responsibility.

He was of the view that if the martial law cannot be imposed, citizens should be issued licenses of firearms for their security.

Altaf Hussain also demanded resignation of Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah by saying that terrorists are killing people at will and the only way to bring the situation under control is the resignation of CM Sindh.

MQM chief said that as the police force in Karachi is not at par with the population of the city, citizens should be permitted to have their own security arrangements. Citizens in the past made some area level committees for their safety but police and rangers personnel harassed them and demanded that special permits must be issued for such local committees.
