KARACHI: MQM chief Altaf Hussain has called for announcement of stern action to end terrorism from the country, ARY News reported Tuesday.
Talking about attack on airport in Karachi, the MQM chief said Karachi, the economic hub of Pakistan, was on target of terrorists.
Altaf said special powers should be given to security institutions to cope with terrorism. In this connection, he added, a comprehensive planning be made for security for protecting key installations of the country.
The MQM chief also appealed the people of Karachi to remain careful in the ongoing situation.
Meanwhile, police conducted targeted raids in Mominabad and Peerabad areas of Karachi and arrested 34 suspects. SP Sajid Sadozai said four police personnel were killed and several wounded by criminals in the aforementioned localities.
