An ill wind sends heroin dealer to prison

Tabraiz Hussain, 34, was driving a car through Middlesbrough, north east England, carrying around one kilo of heroin in a McDonald’s paper bag when police began to follow him, the Daily Telegraph reported on Tuesday.

After giving chase, police finally caught up with Hussain, who was covered in the drug after he tried unsuccessfully to throw the heroin out of the car window.

Officers used a vacuum cleaner to retrieve the drug, with a street value of around £97,000 ($154,000, 122,000 euros), which had also been partly scattered over the road.

Hussain admitted possession of a class A drug with intent to supply and dangerous driving. Judge Simon Bourne-Arton, sitting at Teesside Crown Court, sentenced him to eight years and six months in prison. (AFP)
