LAHORE: Former Punjab chief minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Pervaiz Elahi said on Wednesday that the anti-judiciary campaign is launched on PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif’s directives, ARY News reported.
Pervaiz Elahi said in a statement that the incumbent government cannot impose its ‘unconstitutional laws’ on the Supreme Court. He was reacting to the judicial reforms bill passed by the National Assembly (NA).
“After Maryam Nawaz and Rana Sanaullah, Shehbaz Sharif has also expressed his thoughts against the judiciary now. An anti-judiciary campaign is being run on the behest of Nawaz Sharif.”

Criticising the prime minister, Pervaiz Elahi said that Shehbaz Sharif should go to a rural health centre for his medical treatment. He added that the visit to a rural health centre may divert Shehbaz Sharif’s attention to positive work.
He also criticised the mismanagement at the free wheat flour distribution centres and said that the government’s mismanagement at free wheat distribution centres claimed many lives of poor people.
He slammed the caretaker Punjab government and suggested establishing free wheat flour distribution centres at the rural health centres that enable the injured people to get immediate medical treatment.
Yesterday, Pervaiz Elahi advised the federal government to conduct the mental examination of Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah.

Pervaiz Elahi said that Rana Sanaullah kept raising slogans of “Maru ya Mar Jao” [kill or die] to challenge Imran Khan. He added that the government should conduct Sanaullah’s mental examination.
He said that the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) is defaming honourable judges for its own benefit.
He lambasted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for criticising the honourable judiciary, saying that the premier should remember his past before launching criticism as he had allegedly forced judges to give verdicts in his favour.
The PTI president said that there is no conflict over the judiciary or the people protecting the Constitution, adding that it is usual to disagree on technical issues in any institution. He further added that all judges are equally respectable and protectors of the Constitution.
