It should be noted that Bollywood actresses Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone are working in Hollywood films. Chopra starred in American television thriller series Quantico and will be starring opposite Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in Baywatch.
Padukone, on the other hand, will be playing the role of an antagonist in xXx: The Return of Xander Cage which also stars Vin Diesel.
Anushka Sharma said that she does not portray the characters of a cliched Indian girl and her work, where ever it is coming from, has to be interesting.
“The cliches are there, so if I do something, it has to be interesting. What Priyanka and Deepika are doing is amazing. More power to them,” she said.
She went on to say, “They are representing our country in a way and they are making more opportunities for other people. It’s awesome, but I am not working towards it.”
The Band Baaja Baaraat star, commenting on acting with Salman Khan in her upcoming flick Sultan, admitted she was intimidated while working with the “Bhai” of Bollywood.
“He is not the kind of a person who will go out of the way to make you feel comfortable. I get intimidated to work with Salman and there is no doubt about it. He is the same way with everyone and I really like this quality about him. He is very honest,” she said.
