Areas with more than 90 pct power theft to suffer from 22 hrs load shedding: Abid

ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Water and Power, Abid Sher Ali has said that the areas having more than 90 percent of the power pilfered, will have to face 20-22 hours of load shedding – ARY News reports.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, the State Minister told that 98.9 percent of power theft is being carried out in Naudero, constituency of PPP MNA, Faryal Talpur and there are only 167 consumers, whilst 56.5 million rupees are due to SEPCO.

He continued saying that 1748 consumers are there in Bannu Allahabad, which is the constituency of MNA Ayaz Soomro and here 225 million rupees are due to SEPCO.

Abid Sher Ali told that he is soon to kick-off a countrywide operation against power theft and the areas having more than 90 percent of power pilfered, will have to suffer from 20-22 hours of load management.

He further mentioned that the feeders in such areas shall also be set non-operational.
