Top army brass reviews geo-strategic environment, security

RAWALPINDI: The top brass of the Pakistan Army on Monday reviewed geo-strategic environment and security situation of the country.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa presided over the 214th Corps Commanders’ Conference at the General Headquarters, Rawalpindi, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR).

“Forum reviewed geo-strategic environment and security situation of the country including progress of ongoing stability operations under Operation Raddul Fasad (RuF). Forum expressed its determination to carry forward stability achieved through successful Counter Terrorism operations towards enduring stability,” the statement read.

The army chief lauded intelligence agencies and all forces for maintaining law and order during Muharram. He also apprised the Corps Commanders meet about his successful visit to China.

“Forum thanked people of Pakistan for honouring Martyrs of Pakistan in a befitting manner on the eve of ‘National Defence and Martyrs Day 2018’ to whom we owe our peace and stability,” the military’s media wing said.
