RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif has appreciated the high state of morale of troops and best form of vigilance along LoC, working boundary and international border.
The Army Chief on Saturday visited Sulemanki Sector along the Line of Control where he spent his day interacting with Army and Rangers troops and war veterans of the LoC.
General Raheel Sharif said that Pakistan Army proudly carries its heritage and tradition of soldiering and chivalry. He said the Pakistan Army has always measured up to any challenge taking inspiration from war heroes and their spirit of sacrifice.
With an unprecedented level of success in war against terror, the Pakistan Army has become the most battle hardened army and are equally ready for conventional war.
Chief of Army Staff laid a floral wreath at the monument of Major Shabbir Sharif, his elder brother who was martyred during the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971.
He paid rich tributes to the martyrs for fighting bravely and rendering supreme sacrifice in defence of the motherland.
Earlier, on arrival at Sulemanki, he was received by Corps Commander Lahore, Lt. General Sadiq Ali, Lt. Gen Javaid Iqbal, Commander Bahawalpur Corps, and Director-General Punjab Rangers Maj Gen Umer Farooq Burki.
