Army chief assures ailing child of support

LAHORE: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar  Javed Bajwa on Friday fulfilled wish of an ailing child within two hours.

The ailing child, Ahsan Hussain, recorded a video message seeking help from the Army chief.

“I am a student of 9th class. My heart is working only 20 percent. Doctor says I need heart tranplantation which is very costly,” he said in the video.

The boy was admitted to Children Hospital in Lahore since December 1. He is suffering from dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM), a condition in which the heart’s ability to pump blood is decreased.

He requested the Army chief to help him. “I am waiting for you.”

Within two hours of recording the video message, the COAS responded to the request. On instruction of Qamar Javed Bajwa Corps Commander Lahore Lieutenant General Aamer Riaz visited him at the hospital and ensured him support of the Army chief.

The child was later shifted to CMH Lahore for medical treatment.

Parents of the kid has thanked the COAS for this kind act.
