Army chief, PM condole with Bilour’s family

PESHAWAR: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa reached Peshawar on Thursday to meet the family of Awami National Party (ANP) leader Haroon Bilour, who was killed in a bomb attack in Peshawar on Tuesday

The interim Prime Minister Justice (retd) Nasir-ul-Mulk also reached Peshawar where along with the COAS he will chair a high-level security huddle.

The deadly attack at an election meeting of the Awami National Party on Tuesday in Yakatoot locality of the city had killed Haroon Bilour and over a dozen others.

Bilour was contesting the upcoming general elections from the PK-78 constituency of Peshawar.

Arriving in Peshawar, the COAS first went to the family of martyred ANP leader at his residence to offer his condolences.

Interior Minister Azam Khan was accompanied the PM in a meeting with KP Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra in which issues of law and order, and other matters, were discussed

The PM also met the Bilour family at their residence and consoled them.
