KARACHI: A mugger, who was arrested red-handed by police in Karachi’s Baldia Town, turned out to be a candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for recently-held local government (LG) election, ARY News reported on Monday.
According to details, the police arrested a mugger in injured condition as he was beaten up by citizens in Karachi’s Baldia Town.
The arrested mugger – identified as Muhammad Nabi –
had contested the recently-held local government (LG) election on the ticket of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). “Nabi contested the election from UC-6 Ward No4 on the councilor seat”, the police said.
The police alleged that the suspect – who secured 305 votes in the election – was involved in various robberies. “The accused was detained in an injured condition and the weapon was recovered”, the police added.
