ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Asad Umar on Monday condemned the recent killing of innocent people in held Kashmir, saying these killings are a reminder of brutal repression by India’s occupation forces.
The minister tweeted: “Pulwama killings of innocent kashmiri’s is a reminder of the brutal repression of kashmir by the occupying indian forces. Its time India allows the people of kashmir their inalienable right of self determination.”
The Indian forces last week martyred three Kashmiris in a search operation in district Pulwama. Later, they opened firing at protesters leaving eight other people dead and around 200 injured.
Eyewitnesses said that scores of people, including Hurriyat activists, staged a protest demonstration at Nowhatta chowk to condemn the killings. The protesters were raising pro-freedom and anti-India slogans as they took out a protest rally.
The protesters called for an end to civilian killings and search operations.
