ISLAMABAD: Attorney General of Pakistan Ashtar Ausaf has tendered the resignation from his post, ARY News reported.
According to details, Ausaf forwarded his resignation to the president. “It is an honour for me to have served Pakistan as attorney general,” he said.
Ausaf was appointed for the post of attorney general of Pakistan on March 29, 2016.
The decision of resignation by the attorney general surfaced few hours following the dismissal of Asma Hamid
from the post of advocate general of the province by the caretaker Punjab government.
Asma Hamid was appointed as Advocate General of Punjab by former Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif in closing days of his government’s five-year term.
Additional advocate general Shan Gul has been given charge of the office of provincial AG as a stop-gap arrangement.
