According to details, malnutrition and gastroenteritis outbreak has so far claimed the lives of eight children in the past four days.
Children are being hospitalized in cities such as Mithi, Islamkot and Chachro.
The medicine supply in government run hospitals have run short leaving the families of the affected persons no other alternative but to purchase them from private medical stores.
The rulers have not taken any strict measures to tackle the situation due to which the death count is feared to increase.
