ISLAMABAD: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday issued permanent arrest warrants of 10 PTI leaders in Judicial Complex vandalism case, ARY News reported.
ATC Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain issued permanent arrest warrants of 10 PTI leaders including former ministers Murad Saeed, Umer Ayub, Ali Ameen Gandapur, Shibli Faraz, Farrukh Habib, Hammad Azhar, Ali Nawaz Awan, Hassaan Niazi, Umar Sultan and Mohammad Asim.
The court issued warrants after continuous absence of the accused party leaders in the case hearing.
The ATC in its order said that the accused have been proclaimed offenders, they should be arrested wherever they seen.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Islamabad police had registered a case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and other party leaders for attacking, vandalizing, and damaging the judicial complex during former premier’s appearance.
According to the FIR, the leaders of a “political party” were leading the mob, adding that they provoked the people, which led to vandalism.
An attempt was made to attack the Federal Judicial Complex and the Islamabad High Court (IHC) under a plan, according to the FIR.
