Audio leaks commission appoints BHC deputy registrar as secretary

ISLAMABAD: The Audio leaks commission has appointed the deputy registrar of Balochistan High Court (BHC) Hafeezullah Khajak as secretary, ARY News reported.

As per details, the three-member bench of judicial commission headed by Justice Qazi Faiz Isa issued the written verdict of today’s hearing. 

The written verdict stated that notices will be issued to everyone who are part of the leaked audio tapes.

Furthermore, the notices will be sent through the attorney general office and courier and if that person did not abide by the law then these notices will be displayed on their walls.

Earlier, the audio leak Judicial Commission announced the proceedings will be made public and stated that if any sensitive matter arises, they will consider the request for on-camera proceedings. The commission’s proceedings will take place in the Islamabad Building of the Supreme Court.

The Attorney General was also requested to provide a mobile phone and SIM card for the commission’s proceedings. Justice Qazi Faiz Isa said that due to being the senior-most judge, he also has some constitutional responsibilities.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan challenged the audio leaks judicial commission in the Supreme Court.

Imran Khan asked the Supreme Court to strike down the audio leaks commission, citing no judge can be nominated for the commission without the consent of the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP).
