ISLAMABAD: The three-member judicial commission, constituted by the federal government to investigate the audio leaks, has summoned former chief justice of Pakistan (CJP) Saqib Nisar’s son and other related personalities on May 27, ARY News reported on Wednesday, citing sources.
Sources told ARY News that the judicial commission – headed by Supreme Court (SC) Judge Qazi Faez Isa – has issued summon notices to personalities related to investigation into audio leaks.
Sources claimed that the commission has summoned Saqib Talab – son for former CJP Saqib Nisar, Khawaja Tariq Raheem Advocate and Journalist Abdul Qayyum Siddiqui on May 27.
The next meeting of the judicial commission will be held on May 27 in Courtroom No 2 of the Supreme Court, sources added.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that the federal government submitted the record of alleged audio leaks in the three-member commission led by Justice Qazi Faez Isa.
The transcripts of the eight alleged audio leaks were submitted to the probe commission with the signature of the concerned officer. The record submitted also has the available contact numbers of the people in the alleged audio leaks.
‘Judicial commission’
Earlier, the federal government formed a three-member judicial commission, led by Supreme Court senior puisne judge Justice Qazi Faez Isa, to probe the multiple audio leaks pertaining to the judiciary.

The other members of the judicial commission include Balochistan High Court Chief Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Islamabad High Court (IHC) CJ Aamer Farooq. The commission has been directed to complete the task within 30 days.
Later, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan challenged audio leaks judicial commission in the Supreme Court.
Imran Khan in his plea asked the Supreme Court to strike down the audio leaks commission, citing no judge can be nominated for the commission without the consent of the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP).
The only forum to launch a probe against a judge is Supreme Judicial Council, the plea stated.
The commission head announces that the proceedings would be made public and instructed the Attorney General to provide mobile phones and sims.
