FATAHULAH: Bangladesh has clean swept the New Zealand with the chase of 308 runs in third ODI on Sunday at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium, Fatullah, ARY News reported.
New Zealand batting first scored 307 runs, Ross Taylor marked his eight century, he blasted 107 runs off 93 balls.
Taylor lead New Zealand’s late charge as the Bangladesh bowlers conceded 98 runs in the last ten overs, of which 73 came off the last five overs.
Colin Murno who was the other batsmen to dominate the Bangladeshi attack with his 85 runs and added 130 runs with Taylor to rescue New Zealand from a difficult position.
Among the Bangladesh’s bowlers, Mahmudullah took 2 for 36 while Rubel Hossain, Sohag Gazi and Abdur Razzak took a wicket each.
However, none of them bowled well consistently, particularly Mashrafe and Gazi, who were the team’s best bowlers in the last game. Only Nasir Hossain showed some control with a run rate of 3.30 in his 10 overs.
The response of Bangladesh was outstanding, opening pair were off to the flying star and added 61 runs in 7.4 over the departure of Ziaur Rahman after scoring 22 runs, Shamsur Rahman scored 96 runs hitting seven 4’s and four 6’s.
The middle order played the crucial role to achieve the target, Naeem Islam scored 63 runs while Nasir Hossain with his hard hitting made the things easier, he scored 44 runs off 38 balls.
Bangladesh with their second successful chase off 300 or above in ODIs, marked another unbeaten series win just like the 2010 clean sweep at home, which New Zealand lost 4-0.
