BAP president escapes ‘murder attempt’

JHAL MAGSI: Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) President and MNA Khalid Magsi escaped a ‘murder attempt’ in Jhal Magsi district of Balochistan on Thursday, ARY News reported.

Khalid Magsi said in a statement that the armed robbers attacked him at the Notal area of Jhal Magsi. The BAP president said that he remained unhurt as his guards retaliated and the robbers fled.

Khalid Magsi said that the robbers fired at his vehicle, causing minor damage, but the guards’ retaliatory firing forced the robbers to flee.

Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari telephoned Khalid Magsi and inquired about his well-being. The president also condemned the firing on the BAP president’s convoy.

“An immediate inquiry should be made into the attack,” President Zardari ordered.

Former Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani also contacted Khalid Magsi to inquire about his well-being and condemned the attack.

Sadiq Sanjrani said that the attempted assassination is a ‘pre-planned conspiracy’. He demanded from the provincial government to arrest those involved in the attack.
