BHAKKAR: Three bogies of Peshawar-bound Khushaal Khan Express derailed in Bhakkar, ARY News reported on Monday.
Police said that the train, heading to Peshawar from Karachi, derailed near Bahal Road railway crossing in Bhakkar district of Punjab. No injuries were reported in the incident.
The railway traffic at Kot Addu and Kandian Section temporarily suspended after the incident.
The engineers of the railways’ maintenance department reached to the scene and started the work to remove the derailed coaches from the track and restore the railway traffic.
Mehran Express, en-route to Multan from Rawalpindi, left for its destination after five hour delay.
Railway accidents in Pakistan often take place at the unmanned crossings, which often lack barriers and sometimes signals.
The railways have seen decades of decline due to corruption, mismanagement and lack of investment.
