Ali Zafar reveals details about upcoming Lollywood film

News of Ali Zafar producing a Pakistani film has been doing the rounds recently. The singer cum actor, who was recently awarded India’s most stylish import award, divulged into details regarding his upcoming film titled Deosai, on the occasion of his birthday.

A day before his birthday in a tweet message, Ali had hinted that details regarding his upcoming project would soon be released.

Ali Zafar announces an action-drama film “Deosai” on his birthday

Deosai is an action-drama film which will be directed by renowned Pakistani director Imran Babur. The film will be shot in the northern areas of Pakistan and will go floors in late 2015. The film is expected to be released in mid summer of the next year. Praising Ali Zafar’s passion for the project, director Imran said:-

“Having worked intensely in the northern areas, I fell in love with the idea and story Ali shared with me. It’s an extremely powerful story and I am excited and honoured to be a part of this project.”

Ali spoke at length about the upcoming project and voiced his desire to not only revive the local film industry through such stellar projects but also deliver movies that were impressive content wise.

“Being an artist who likes to discover the intricacies of various art forms, and experience his relationship

with them, for me venturing out into creating a feature film is a most thrilling beginning. I have been wanting to play my part in the revival of our local cinema industry and make films that are not just avant guard in their narrative and aesthetics but also mean something. Films that can make a difference and are remembered for a long time for their content besides aiming to be successful commercial ventures. Which is why I waited for that right intuition and idea for my first film as an actor producer and I am extremely happy with the way it has shaped up,” said Ali Zafar.

The action said, “I love the mountains and can’t wait to visit and shoot in all those breathtaking locations in the north specially the second highest plateau in the world “Deosai” known as the land of the Giants, after which we have named the title.”

“I am most excited and feel lucky to have found a great director and team who have the talent and experience to translate this dream into an inspiring reality,” Zafar mentioned.

The film is currently in on a world-wide hunt to cast the female lead.

To follow his desire to produce this film, Ali had said no to three Bollywood offers.
