BISP inks MoU with Hazza Institute of Technology

ISLAMABAD: The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hazza Institute of Technology (HIT) to impart skill development training to BISP beneficiaries.

The MoU was signed by Director General Complementary Initiatives Sajid Baloch and CEO HIT Azhar Iqbal Sindhu witnessed by Secretary BISP Omar Hamid Khan along with other Director Generals of the BISP.

As per the MoU, initially 200 BISP beneficiaries will be trained on different skills including fabrication, welding, heavy machinery driver, electrician, steel fixers and others. The institute will not only train these beneficiaries, but will also ensure their job placement post-training.

The secretary BISP terming the partnership as “graduation through collaboration” and rated it invaluable as the mutual partnership will help BISP beneficiaries to graduate and qualify for adequate job. The partnership will soon be scaled up to others districts of Pakistan, he added.

The CEO HIT, acknowledging the support of the BISP, said “We value this partnership and we will try our best to contribute towards the poverty reduction in Pakistan”.
