According to the actress, “to be religious it does not mean that I am getting renunciation. I don’t want my mind to become a slave. Our mind get stuck in all the wrong things of the world like money, fame, materialism etc. and we become slave of all these things.”

“I want to stay with all these things but I don’t want to become a slave. I have come to know the problems. Now I want to find the solutions of my mind and want to be a best person.

That is why I am practicing Buddhism. I am doing chanting these days. There is a mentor in Japan who gave path of spirituality.

Also, I am reading the book “Power of Now” by which I can really understand the meaning of the life and happiness.” she added.

Chawla has come a long way from her TV stint. After doing a number of regional movies in Tamil, Telegu, Kannada and Punjabi languages, Surveen is now ready to make her Bollywood debut in Anurag Kashyap’s Uglyand Vikram Bhatt’s Hate Story-2.

Talking about her struggle in the industry, Surveen says that it was the lack of creative
satisfaction that made her quit TV to pursue a career in movies.
