Bomb experts neutralise explosive material in Jaccobabad

JACCOBABAD: A bomb disposal squad (BDS) neutralised explosive material recovered within the jurisdiction of the Sultan police station on Thursday, ARY News reported.

According to security sources, the explosive material weighed 20 to 22 kilogrammes.

A BDS team was called in from Sukkur to defuse the bomb, the sources said, adding the explosive material contained nuts, bolts and morter shells.

Earlier, on Feb 18, a blast targeting a police van had martyred a policeman and wounded two others in Kalachi, DI Khan.

The police vehicle was targeted, when the policemen were on their way to discharge their duties in anti-polio campaign, the police had said.

Prior to that, three children were killed as a toy bomb exploded at home near the University area in Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan).

“Three children aged between five to nine years, all boys, were killed by a toy bomb,” a local government official had said.
