‘Very upsetting’: Boxer Amir Khan condemns atrocities in Palestine

Star boxer Amir Khan has voiced his concern over the atrocities in Palestine following the recent attack by Israeli forces at Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem.

Turning to his verified Twitter handle on Monday morning, Khan shared a bunch of pictures showcasing the brutal acts by Israeli forces against Palestinians. “IT’S VERY UPSETTING TO SEE WHAT IS HAPPENING IN PALESTINE, WHO ARE BEING CONSISTENTLY ABUSED & TORMENTED,” read the text along.

“MY PRAYERS ARE WITH THE PEOPLE OF PALESTINE,” Khan wrote further on the micro-blogging site.

Furthermore, the boxer pledged to donate a sum of £50,000 to the victims while urging his followers to join this cause.

Apart from Amir Khan, American supermodel Bella Hadid who had been actively lending his voice against the brutalities claimed earlier this week that she is being ‘shadow-banned’ by Instagram for speaking up for Palestine.

“My Instagram has disabled me from posting on my story – pretty much only when it is Palestine based I’m going to assume,” she told a foreign magazine. “When I post about Palestine, I get immediately shadow-banned and almost 1 million less of you see my stories and posts.”

It is pertinent to mention that over 700 Israeli settlers raided the Al-Aqsa Mosque over the past weekend. Videos doing rounds on social media see Israeli forces firing tear gas and stun grenades as worshippers gathered at the mosque on Friday for early morning prayers.

Reportedly at least 158 Palestinians were injured during the violence.
