Boxer Amir Khan visits Lyari, witnesses boxing matches

Amir Khan reached the Lyari boxing ring with strict security arrangements in place. Glad to find the world famed boxer among them, fans gathered around him, showered rose petals and presented traditional Balochi dance.

He was also gifted an Ajrak and Sindhi cap, while boxing-freak Lyariites also organized boxing matches for Amir Khan.

The world welterweight boxer enjoyed the match between youngsters and distributed prizes among the winners.

Amir Khan said if the boxing academies succeeded then Pakistan will earn great name in the boxing world.

Earlier, Amir Khan held meeting with former Pakistan cricket team captain Wasim Akram, Saeed Anwar and Junaid Jamshed.

Talking to media on the occasion, Amir Khan said Pakistan has got enough talent in all fields; the need of the hour is to encourage players.

He vowed to establish an academy in Karachi to provide best training facilities to Karachi boxers and said the establishment of academy will also bring forth champions from Pakistan.

On the occasion, Wasim Akram and Saeed Anwar lauded Khan’s efforts for raising the standards of boxing in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Amir Khan also console Abdul Sattar Edhi at a Karachi hospital and extended his heartfelt wishes for speedy recovery of the philanthropist.
