Banned Balochistan Republican Party (BRP) leader in exile was talking to BBC Urdu on the ninth death anniversary of his grandfather Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti who was killed in a raid of security forces at his hideout in Balochistan mountains.
Bugti said that he is willing to negotiate with the government over the Balochistan issue.
Brahamdagh Bugti said that “If our friends, political allies and the people are in favour of talks, we are definitely ready to live with Pakistan.”
He added that he wants to resolve all issues politically and with peaceful means.
Brahamdagh Bugti who had fled Pakistan after killing of his grandfather in August 2006, has said that the security establishment has to review its strategy in Balochistan as the issue could only be resolved through peaceful dialogue.
The stance of Bugti, who is currently seeking asylum in Switzerland, shows a major shift as in the past he was staunchly against dialogue with the state of Pakistan.
Questioning the state agencies strategy in Balochistan he asked what difference has been made by torture, killings and arrests in the last ten to fifteen years in the province.
He urged for a conducive environment for negotiations.
Bugti in a question about assistance from India, said he will not deny it, as it is usual for people to ask for help when they are defending themselves.
