According to ARY News, the election commission has directed the rival candidates in Karachi’s NA-246 to conclude their election campaigns by April 21st night.
The election commission has also directed the candidates to comply the code of the conduct of the election.
The by-election in National Assembly constituency NA-246, deemed as stronghold of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), will be held on April 23. The seat fell vacant after Nabeel Gabol who was elected on the ticket of MQM in the 2013 general elections, resigned from his seat after developing differences with the party.
A number of candidates are participating in the hotly contested election with the most notable of them being MQM’s Kunwar Naveed Jamil, PTI’s Imran Ismail and JI’s Rashid Nasim.
