ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Law Minister Syed Ali Zafar on Tuesday said the caretaker government had invited foreign qualified professionals to sort out solutions for the national problems, including the acute shortage of water in the country.
He said the first meeting in this regard had already taken place.
State media directed to provide coverage to all political parties
Addressing media in Islamabad, the minister said elections would be held in free and transparent manner. He said courts were free and no one could intervene in their work.
He said state broadcasters had been asked to give impartial coverage to all political parties.
FATA-KP merger implementation plan to be deliberated tomorrow
Ali Zafar said an implementation plan regarding erstwhile merger of FATA with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be deliberated on Wednesday.
He said the federal and provincial implementation committees were meeting in Peshawar on Wednesday on this matter.
The minister said an ordinance was likely to be issued on the provincial level to cover all the issues relating to the merger.
He said steps would also be taken for legislation regarding taxation and exemptions for the erstwhile FATA.
To a question, Ali Zafar said there had been no constitutional violation in the merger of FATA with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. However, if any person had grievance on this issue, it could be taken to the Supreme Court, he added.
He said deployment of Levies in FATA would be made in a phased manner.
